About
The Red Circle Universe
Over a decade ago The Mighty Crusaders did the impossible: they won. Successful in their battle against evil and finding they’d made the world a better place, the heroes founded the small town of Red Circle to start families, unwind and take a much-deserved rest. For all their kids know, these are simply everyday folks who have spent their entire lives as accountants, teachers, lawyers and handymen. Peace reigns thanks to the efforts of selfless individuals who put the well being of society above their own lives. Peace reigns…
…Until now.
The heroes of the Red Circle have fought for justice since the Shield emerged as America’s first super hero in the fall of 1939. Over the years, the heroes have undergone a variety of transformations.
1930s-1950s: A turbulent time for America and for the world, the post-depression era saw the initial rise of what would one day become the Mighty Crusaders. A surge of heroic vigilantism erupts in North America, some of it Government-sanctioned. Under the direct supervision of J. Edgar Hoover himself, Joe Higgins a.k.a the Shield becomes the “G-Man Extraordinary” and, along with the likes of the scientist-turned-hero Steel Sterling, set the stage for a new era. After over a decade of fighting crime at home and abroad, the Shield vanishes…
1960s-1970s: The Shield’s son continues to battle for America’s interests abroad as well as protect her citizens at home. New heroes and villains emerge and the Mighty Crusaders are formed.
1980s-1990s: The original Shield returns, and after the reformation of the Mighty Crusaders, virtually all super villains are incarcerated or otherwise accounted for. The Brain Emperor and Mr. Justice have vanished into the Astral Plain. M.L.J. establishes the town of Red Circle for the heroes to take a well-deserved rest and new families are begun.
2012: The rise of the Heroes. When the Brain Emperor returned from exile, the children of the original Mighty Crusaders were forced to step up and take the mantle of their parents. They now stand ready to confront a new kind of evil for a new kind of world.
They are our last, best hope. They are the NEW CRUSADERS.
2013: When photojournalist Paul Patton, Jr. donned a super hero costume, he thought it would be a quick way to make some news—now the strange and unusual just can’t help but be drawn to the freak-magnetism of the fabulous fighting FOX!
